MBHP Housing Insurance Program

A number of years ago, Bob Emerson of our organization joined with the Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership (MBHP) and developed a low-cost insurance program that provided superior coverage for building owners in the urban and suburban areas of Boston who may have had difficulty in finding voluntary coverage for their properties. This program continues today and remains among the benefits and assistance offered to property owners by MBHP.

At rates considerably lower than the FAIR Plan (MPIUA) or the surplus lines marketplace, and with coverage and limit capacity exceeding that available there, the MBHP program offers broad coverage in a standard, “A” rated insurance company.

Both owner-occupied and non-owner-occupied properties are eligible, with full homeowner’s insurance capacity for owners who occupy their property. And while this program is ideal for individual property owners, it is also an excellent solution for those owning multiple properties and can be customized into a full commercial insurance program. The program is open to all property owners, and not just those properties housing an MBHP-subsidized tenant.
